Fire alarm and monitoring system for forest fires will be open from the end of April 2011 in the territory of Pirin National Park, park district Vihren chosen for a pilot area because of its strategic position - near Bansko and the nature reserves, and the major tourist area regardless of the season.
To monitor the installation of specialized equipment and placing the information center, located at the Directorate of the national park, experts from Norway Sigurd Ruud Ollie and Cecilia Aurbakken visited the park. For the duration of their stay in Bulgaria, the experts from Norway had the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of the Pirin National Park participated in a workshop at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and shared their impressions about the project with the first secretary of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway - Ms. Dagfrid Yorthul and the program manager EEA Financial Mechanism - Mrs. Svetla Semerdjieva
From 27 to 29 April 2011 the Directorate of Pirin National Park will host an international conference with experts from Norway. The conference will be the final event of the project and will bring together representatives of various institutions. They will consider and discuss the importance of the pilot project, its promotion and its importance in the management of protected areas.
